The Russian government has extended the tariff quota for exporting ferrous scrap and waste metals outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) until December 31, 2024. The new quota is set at 550,000 tonnes, slightly lower than the previous 600,000 tonne quota.

This decision aims to ensure domestic metals industries have access to this strategic raw material, with the in-quota duty remaining at 5% but at least 15 euros per tonne. The over-quota duty will also stay at 5%, but at least 290 euros per tonne. This extension of the export quota reflects Russia's efforts to balance domestic supply needs with international trade in ferrous scrap and waste metals. [1][2][3][4][5]
