The Department of Agriculture (DA) in the Philippines has imposed a ban on the importation of poultry and poultry products from France due to recent outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) reported by the country.
This decision, aimed at protecting local poultry populations and consumers, follows similar actions taken against Belgium, which also reported bird flu cases. The ban will take effect starting January 8, 2024, preventing the entry of live birds, poultry meat, and related products from France, with exceptions for imports already in transit under specific conditions.
