The Philippines is set to resume exporting raw sugar to the United States in August 2024, nearly four years after its last shipment to America.

The move comes in response to requests from industry stakeholders and the US government's allocation of an additional 25,300 metric tons raw value (MTRV) for the Philippines for fiscal year 2024. The Philippines plans to export 24,700 MT of raw sugar while simultaneously importing around 200,000 MT of refined sugar to fill an anticipated supply gap and ensure price stability[1][2][3][4].
